Come and Visit Us!

Want to see what you will see when you visit us? Check out our amazing Belize Botanic Gardens map at www.mapbureau.com.

Where are we and how you can get here.

Belize Botanic Gardens is 10 miles from San Ignacio in the Cayo District of Western Belize. To drive here, go west from San Ignacio (towards the Guatemala border). Five miles from San Ignacio, look for a sign that says Belize Botanic Gardens (opposite a giant white house). Turn left at the sign onto a dirt road. After you get on the dirt road, just follow any signs for duPlooy's and Belize Botanic Gardens for about five miles. There aren't many turn offs, so you shouldn't have any trouble.

You can also get a taxi from San Ignacio for between $15-30US, depending on the driver. Set the fare before you go.

Or Call us to book our daily shuttle. The shuttle is FREE with a guided tour (minimum 2 people), otherwise it is just $10US per person one-way and $15US round-trip. The time it leaves San Ignacio is currently 9am but call us to confirm times and rates.

When you arrive come to the office at duPlooy's Jungle Lodge and we will help you set up your time in the gardens.

Call or email us if you need help finding the place or if you would like to book a group or a special tour.

When are we open?

We are open from 7am to 5pm. Our guided tours are available from 7:30am - 3:00pm. We are open every day of the year but we may not have a tour guide available on certain holidays.

Entrance Only ($5.00US per person)

If you would just like to stroll around the place and don't really want to hear a lot of information, then this is the choice for you. Not to mention quite a deal! Five bucks gets you a map of the garden and and a quick orientation beofre we send you on your way. Spend an hour or spend the day.

Self-guided tours ($7.50US per person)

We have 2 self-guided tours to choose from the Plants of the Maya and a General Garden Tour. These are booklets with information about some of the plants in the garden.
